Setting the Save Options for a Recording Session
A session can be set to show a Save As...dialog, allowing you to name the recording and choose the group in the WireTap Studio Library to save to when the recording is complete, or it can be set to name recordings automatically with preset naming options.
To set the save options for a WireTap Studio recording session:
- Go to the Window menu and select Recordings Sessions, or press command 2 to open the Recording Sessions window. Click on New to create a new session, or select an existing session and click on Edit.
- Choose the Show Save As Dialog option to display a save dialog when the recording is finished allowing you to name the recording and choose the group within the WireTap Studio Library to save to.
- Choose the Name Automatically option to automatically save recordings to the group in the WireTap Studio Library specified in the Save Files To menu with the naming options chosen. The Sample entry displays a sample name with the current settings.
Split - Use this menu to split recordings automatically. For more on splitting recordings, see Splitting Recordings Automatically.
Record Lossless Original - with this option checked a copy of the original recording with the same quality as the source audio - no matter what format or settings the recording is set to be saved with - will be saved to the WireTap Studio Library.
NOTE: This option must be checked to take advantage of WireTap Studio's lossless editor.With this option unchecked a warning sign icon will appear to the right of the option indicating that no lossless original will be available for editing.
This warning icon will also appear in the description field in the editor window of any recordings made without a lossless original.
Open Recording in Editor - with this option checked recordings will open in an editor window as soon as the recording is finished and saved.
- Click on OK to save all of the session settings.
